Join Mayor Bowser as she cuts the ribbon on an extensive modernization project that delivers a sprawling new recreation amenity to the Ward 5 community.

This $20 Million project, which broke ground in January of 2018, was centered around the replacement of the existing facility, built in 1947, with a new, state-of-the-art

recreation center equipped with the a new, indoor gymnasium, locker rooms and multi-purpose rooms, a new teaching kitchen and fitness center, as well as a rooftop farm and community garden.
